Incheon: India's recurve archers will return empty-handed from the 17th Asian Games after the women's team lost to Japan in the bronze medal playoff by a solitary point here on Sunday.

The trio of Deepika Kumari, L Bombayla Devi and Laxmirani Majhi went down to Japan in a shoot-off after both the teams were tied at 217 at the end of regulation sets.

In the shoot-off, the Japanese team edged past the Indians 27-26 to grab the bronze medal. (Day 9 Updates)
