The National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, England hosted the Norwich Union Grand Prix meeting on Friday night. Ethiopian Kenenisa Bekele set a new world indoor record for the men's 5,000 metres. Marion Jones made a mixed return to the track following the birth of her son, finishing second in the women's 60 metres and winning the long jump. The American was beaten for only the third time in seven years, finishing behind Belgian Kim Gevaert, who equalled her personal best with a winning time of 7.13 seconds. Ashia Hansen was also making her comeback on Friday, but would be victorious on her return after missing most the previous outdoor season with an ankle injury. (AP)Topics mentioned in this article
