New Delhi: Saina Nehwal became the first singles Indian player to reach the final of the BWF Super Series last week. Speaking to NDTV, the ace shuttler said she may not have won the tournament but is pleased as the silver medal came after a year of struggle.
Saina lost the final match in China to World Number 1 Yihan Wang but said on Tuesday that she re-gained her lost confidence. "I felt in the tournament that I was getting my rhythm back. It was good to reach the final of the tournament."
The World Number 4 said the match against the home favourite was tough but she was pleased that she managed to win the first game in the match. "Wang is a dangerous player. I thought I can match her speed. In the finals, the strategy went slightly wrong after winning the first game. I should have played behind and made her move more than she did."
