Recreating the life of an Olympic medalist on the big screen is not easy. Little wonder then that Indian badminton star Saina Nehwal wants actress Deepika Padukone, whose father Prakash won the All England title in 1980, to play the lead role in a biopic on her life.
While Saina does not doubt the ability of other Bollywood actresses, she feels that Deepika is best suited to play the role of a badminton player.
"I think only Deepika Padukone can do justice to my onscreen image," she was quoted as saying by a national daily. "Firstly, people should be able to connect with the character and given Deepika's popularity, she would be perfect for the role."
