It is my first time in Trinidad and Tobago, and what a sight it is to behold, with it's long winding roads of lush green rain forests and mountains, to driving along the coast of white sands and blue waters. But there is more, they often say the people make a place and here in Trinidad the culture the vibe the friendly fun loving people make it what it is.
The day started off bright and early with me going to the ground at 7am for the 4th ODI between India and the West Indies. West Indies looked like they were surging ahead in this series and it was an absolute must win for India, if they intended to stay in the series. A lot of pressure was on the the captain Virat kohli who was taking over from a injured MS Dhoni.
The stage was set for a atmospheric nail biting match, but nothing could have prepared me for the energy in the stands and the entertainment in between. It did not matter that after a while India surged forward and took control of the game, this crowd was here to support the culture of Trinidad and dance and party even if it was a sinking ship towards the end.
