Humpy beats third seed Zlatko
Koneru Humpy beat 3rd seed Yugoslav GM Zlatko Ilincic in First Saturday GM Chess tournament played in Budapest.

Radiating her brilliance and form at the most crucial stage, junior world champion Koneru Humpy of India defeated third seed Yugoslav Grandmaster Zlatko Ilincic while Tejas Bakre moved to the top spot after the 10th round of the First Saturday GM Chess tournament played in Budapest. Setting aside her initial setbacks, 14-year-old Humpy supplemented her grit and form with an emphatic win over 33-year-old Ilincic, who has an ELO rating of 2521 against her rating of 2484, and garnered six points to be placed third after the 10th round. Asian junior champion and the other Indian in the field, Tejas Bakre shared the top slot with Hungarian GM Berkes Ference earning seven points each. In the 11th round, Humpy, aspiring for the third GM norm, faces leader and second seed Ference with white in the 13-round category IX tournament.
