Commonwealth Games 2014: Rajwinder Kaur Clinches Judo Bronze for India

Rajwinder Kaur defeated Kenyan Esther Akinyi Ratugi to win the bronze in the women's 78kg category at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Glasgow: It was a mixed day for Indian judokas as Rajwinder Kaur clinched the bronze while Jina Devi Chongtham and Sahil Pathania missed the medal by a whisker in the Commonwealth Games being held at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre here Saturday.

India's Pariskhit Kumar also lost to New Zealand's Jake Andrewartha in the men's 100kg bronze medal contest B later in the day. (Sarnobat, Sayeed Win Gold in 25m Air Pistol)

With four judokas - Jina Devi, Sahil, Rajwinder and Parikshit - making the bronze medal play-offs, expectations were high. But Jina Devi, Sahil and Parikshit lost their bouts in disappointing fashion.
