Karachi:
"This is what happens when you indulge in favoritism while picking players. When the team is selected without honest intention, this is what happens," Qadir told a television channel.
Qadir resigned as chief selector early last month during the World T20 claiming there was too much interference from the PCB Chairman and the team management in selection matters.
Ever since then Qadir has been on a warpath with the PCB and had been criticising them for their decisions.
The PCB had recently dissolved both the senior and junior selection committees and informed a new selection committee would be announced by July 21 with indications that the selectors would not be paid employees and would work on honorary basis.
Pakistan lost the first Test against Pakistan on the fourth morning, losing their last eight wickets for 46 runs while chasing a meagre 167 for victory.
Qadir maintained some players were not picked on merit in the team and they were only selected because of pressure from some governing council members of the board.
"A national team must be selected only on merit and when this is not done you face defeat," said the former leg-spinner.
Qadir said the way Pakistan lost the Test was shameful. "I don't know what they were doing, the batting was terrible."
Other former players had also slammed the team's performance and questioned the team selection for the Test marking the end of the honeymoon period for the World T20 winning team.
