Karachi:Pakistan Cricket Board's legal advisor has described troubled fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar's anti-disciplinary track record bigger than his cricketing achievements during a court hearing on Monday.
Tafazzul Rizvi, during his argument in the Lahore High Court said Akhtar's anti-disciplinary record overshadowed his cricketing record sheet.
Rizvi presented his arguments in the writ petition filed by Akhtar against the 18-month ban and seven million rupees fine imposed on him by an appellate tribunal of the board last year.
Akhtar, who was last week issued another show cause notice by the PCB for violating terms of his central contract, has challenged the appellate tribunal decision.
The tribunal had in fact reduced a five-year ban imposed by the board's disciplinary committee on Akhtar early last year but imposed the fine which the pacer has yet to deposit with the PCB.
"The court has adjourned the hearing until August 3 but generally the counsel for Shoaib and myself have about concluded our arguments in the case," Rizvi told PTI.
Rizvi said he had submitted all the documents along with video and audio cassettes pertaining to Akhtar's disciplinary track record and the reports of managers, coaches and captains in recent years about his behaviour and attitude.
