Karachi:
Butt said he firmly believes that the reason behind Pakistan's humiliating Test and one-day series defeat in Sri Lanka was only because of the side's batting collapse.
The PCB chief is also scheduled to meet the team members here on their return on Friday to discuss their performances, with sources informing that Butt will also take up reports of discord within the side.
"I will meet the players and team management to find out the reasons for the defeats. I want to make it clear that only those players would be considered for the Champions Trophy who deserve to be in the side. There is no place for players not willing to give 100 per cent to the team," Butt said.
The national selectors are scheduled to announce the final 15-member squad for the Champions Trophy by August 22 and the fitness of pace spearhead Mohammad Asif is likely to be a key discussion point when the wisemen meet.
Asif has not played any cricket since July 2008 because of the 12-month ban imposed on him for failing a dope test during the inaugural Indian Premier League (IPL).
The PCB chairman also dismissed reports about the possible rift between him and the chief patron of the board, President Asif Ali Zardari.
"The media is just speculating. The Presidency has appointed me to this position and for the moment they have full confidence in me," he said.
He said the moment the President indicates that he is not satisfied with his (Butt's) performance, he would resign by himself.
"But right now they are ok with me and I am also giving my 100 per cent to deliver the best results for Pakistan cricket," he added.
He also took a potshot at the reports that Pakistan had not received payments for the one- day series against Australia in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
"The factual position is we got a lot of advance payments and we have received nearly 40 per cent of our total earnings.
I am confident that the remaining amount would also be cleared soon," he added.
