  • Shane Watson and Shaun Marsh put on 145 runs - the best partnership for the first wicket at this venue, outstripping the 76 between Adam Gilchrist and Matthew Hayden for Australia against India on October 5, 2007.

  • The best ever partnership for the first wicket for Australia against India is 212 between Geoff Marsh and David Boon at Jaipur on September 7, 1986.

  • Shane Watson (93 + 3/47) is the second Australian all-rounder after Greg Chappell to post a 90 and capture three wickets in the same match. Chappell had achieved the distinction against New Zealand at Melbourne in 1981

  • Suresh Raina has posted his 12th fifty - his second against Australia.
