New Delhi:Even as the dust of the auction for the Indian Premier League 3 has not settled yet, preparations for season 4 are already underway.
In July there will be a new auction, which will see all teams pick up fresh players from a pool of over 500 players.
For the franchises that want to hold onto their players there has been some respite. Franchises will be able to retain 4 Indian and 2 foreign players but there will be no transfers.
In IPL 4, the number of teams will increase from 8 to 10. The existing cap on foreign players per team will be raised from 10 to 12 but the existing cap of 4 foreign players being allowed to play in the playing XI will remain.
Unlike three seasons, when matches were played in the evening, some games will also be held in morning to tackle rise in matches from 60 to 94.
