Former skipper Javed Miandad has said that Pakistan's below par show at the World T20 is because they haven't responded to situations adequately.

Lahore:
Defending Champions Pakistan were not convincing in their preliminary round matches and have started their Super Eights with a defeat against England to find themselves in a must-win situation against New Zealand.
"I don't think anyone was expecting them to fare so badly in the tournament because they are the defending champions. The players are not playing according to the situation nor adjusting accordingly.
"In T20 cricket players have to quickly adjust themselves to the requirements of the situation and play accordingly which our players are not doing," Miandad, who is also PCB Director General (Cricket), said at a press conference here.
Miandad though did not held either captain or coach responsible for the poor performance on the field.
"Maybe the players are taking too much pressure and that is why the fielding has been below par. But you can't really blame the captain and coach for this. Because where fielding is concerned it is an individual thing and every player must work hard on perfection," he said.
However, Miandad was hopeful that the team could still defend its title as it had the potential to go all the way.
"Pakistan cricket has lot of talent unfortunately our recent results dont reflect that on the international scenario. We must move forward and the players need to work harder," he said.
Miandad refused to pick any favourites to win the title, pointing out that all eight teams in second round were capable of winning the event.
"There is little to choose between the teams as they are all good sides and what matters is how they play on a particular day. I wouldn't say because India lost to Australia or Pakistan to England they can't go on to play in the final."
