Karachi:
Outlining the blunders made by Butt in the recent past, NASCS chairman Iqbal Mohammad Khan had written to President Asif Ali Zardari, who is also the chief patron of PCB, and requested him to straighten out the affairs of Pakistan Cricket.
"We have outlined all the problems and recent blunders made by the Cricket Board (PCB) chairman in the letter and urged the President to spare time for cricket and to make changes that are good for the game," Khan said.
"We don't rule out the solution of immediately appointing an ad-hoc committee for a six month period to bring back stability, democracy, discipline and accountability in Pakistan cricket," he warned.
NASCS latest step to save controversy-racked Pakistan cricket comes close on the heels of Shahid Afridi's sudden retirement from five-day cricket after the humiliating 150-run loss to Australia in the first Test at Lord's.
Khan, who chaired a meeting of NASCS yesterday, said the committee had decided to summon the PCB chief for a hearing as soon as he returns from England.
"Whenever he is back we want him to appear before the committee so that we can ask him just what is happening in Pakistan cricket," he said.
NASCS chairman also pointed out that although Butt was said to be working on a honorary basis in PCB, he had spent around 135 days last year on foreign trips for which he is entitled to a daily allowance of USD 150 per day.
"The committee has noted that perhaps no chairman has spent so much time abroad on trips some of which were not necessary at all," Khan said.
