New Delhi:
The trio replaced Virat Kohli, Abhimanyu Mithun and Ravichandran Ashwin in the Board President's XI squad to be captained by Gautam Gambhir.
Kohli and Mithun are in the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad while Ashwin is a key member of the Chennai Super Kings side. Both the IPL teams have qualified for the Champions League T20 semi-final and will clash against each other in Durban on Friday.
Even if RCB or CSK lose the semi-final, the players in question would not have been able to make it in time for the match.
"Since, we were aware about the possibility that these players may have chance of playing in the semi-final, we were prepared to name the replacements," a BCCI source said.
Initially, Rohit Sharma was the first choice to replace Kohli but since the Mumbai batsman is unwell, Tiwary will get a chance to stake claim for a place in the ODI squad.
Left-arm spinner Ojha will be happy to get a feel of the Australian batsmen before the real action begins in Mohali on October 1.
For Bengal's Dinda, if he makes it to the playing XI, it will be another chance to impress the selectors with a long season ahead.
