New Delhi: Lalit Modi, former chairman of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Saturday blasted the Indian cricket board for opposing the use of the Umpire Decision Review System (UDRS) and asked the International Cricket Council (ICC) to take a firm stand.
The Indian board's continued objection to UDRS has come in for criticism, more so after their refusal to use it in the coming series in England. England favour the system, but it can't be used unless both boards agree.
"It is disappointing to see the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) turn its back on the wider use of technology during India's tour of England. DRS was in use and apparently worked effectively in last winter's Ashes series and the recent World Cup," Modi wrote on his website.
