London: Jonathan Trott was named as the ICC's 2011 cricketer of the year on Monday, capping a superb 12 months that saw the No. 3 batsman become the bedrock of England's team in both the Test and one-day formats. (Event in pics)
The 30-year-old Trott played a key role in England's rise to No. 1 in the Test world rankings this year, averaging 65.12 runs in 12 Tests and hitting four centuries.
He also impressed in the one-day format, where he averaged nearly 50 in 24 matches.
