Hyderabad: Former India captain Mohd Azharuddin's son Mohd Ayazuddin, who was grievously injured in a road accident here, continues to remain "very critical".
Dr Hari Prasad, CEO, Apollo Hospital said a nephrectomy (removal of kidney) procedure was performed on Tuesday. Ayazuddin's neurological condition, the doctor said, is still a matter of concern. Doctors fear that there may be significant brain dysfunction due to anoxia during the period in which the patient was in a collapsed stage after the accident.
Ayazuddin, 19, met with an accident on Sunday morning when the 1600 cc Suzuki sports bike he was driving skidded on the outskirts of the city.
