Hyderabad: Kolkata Knight Riders coach Dav Whatmore is confident that his boys will put their best foot forward despite the absence of skipper Gautam Gambhir.
"He (Gambhir) was the skipper. Obviously, we will miss him as he is a very good player. It is just a little unfortunate as his injury happened during the Test series in England. That was an unavoidable situation. We just try to get on with it as best as we can," KKR's coach Dav Whatmore told reporters here on Tuesday.
Gambhir, who is suffering from concussion after a nasty fall during India's third Test against England, has been ruled out for the qualifying matches to be played here on September 19, 20 and 21.
