Simon Katich has hired a top sports lawyer to prepare his defence at a Cricket Australia hearing scheduled for November 21 after the country's apex cricket body pulled him up for his comments against national captain Michael Clarke.
The ousted opener faces charges of suspension or a fine for breaching CA's code of conduct. Katich earlier said that Clarke had a role to play in CA's denying the opener a national contract in June.
Katich has pinned his hopes on lawyer Darren Kane, who has represented some big names from the world of athletics and the Australian Rugby League.
However, Kane would be unavailable to represent the beleaguered batsman on the date of the hearing set by CA.
"I certainly won't have any flexibility as to the 21st," Kane was quoted as saying by The Sydney Morning Herald.
"Whether CA have flexibility as to the 21st is a matter to be discussed with them. They are not the most flexible people to deal with."
