Melbourne: Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland has admitted that "something clearly has gone awry" in the new selection panel's communication with the public as he cleared the air on Brad Haddin, saying that the out-of-form wicketkeeper has been dropped and not rested.
"I don't know the specific detail on it. Looking back on it, something clearly has gone awry there and that's something we need to be clearer on," Sutherland told 'The Daily Telegraph'.
The panel had claimed that the 34-year-old Haddin had been rested from the first three one-dayers of the ongoing tri-series against India and Sri Lanka. But Haddin went on to claim that he had been dropped from the side.
