Sydney: James Pattinson, the Australian fast bowler who was left out of the World Twenty20 probables' list due to fitness issues, withdrew from the Australia A squad in England due to an abdominal strain, according to a report in The Age.
Pattinson was a part of Australia’s One-Day International squad that lost 0-4 to England last month. He was originally supposed to stay on in England in order to prepare for the 'A' tour, but was called back by Cricket Australia to complete his rehabilitation after suffering a stomach strain during the fifth ODI in Manchester.
Greg Shipperd, the Victoria coach, told The Age that Pattinson would be fit to resume bowling at Victoria Bushrangers' training camp in the first week of August. Pattinson is a part of Australia's limited-overs squad for the series that will take on Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates in the tour starting August 28.
