New Delhi: Yuvraj Singh is ecstatic after he was named in the 15-member squad for the T20 matches against New Zealand and ICC World T20, starting next month. The flamboyant cricketer has recovered from a nine-month long battle with a rare germ cell cancer and was declared fit to play by BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) doctors yesterday.
Soon after the squads were announced, an excited Yuvraj thanked the BCCI and the selectors on Twitter and said he felt like he was going to play his first match for India. "Can't explain how I feel ! Feels like I'm going to play for india for the first time!want to thank a lot of people. Specially bcci and selectors for showing their faith in me my friends and family my fans and media ! Its a special day for me," he tweeted.
Yuvraj had spent close to three months in Boston for his treatment where he also took three sessions of chemotherapy. Known for his fighting spirit, Yuvi tweeted: "When I was diagnosed with cancer I always thought in my heart that one day I will come back and play for india. And I hope the almighty wil give me another chance in life to do so! So here I am ready to represent my country once again its a huge honour."
