Chennai: After tormenting batsmen all over the world for over a decade, Glenn McGrath will now be instrumental in developing more such talents as the director of the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai.
McGrath will take over the mantle from another Australian bowling legend, Dennis Lillee, who completed a long 25 years stint at the Foundation. "It was an extremely hard decision for me to leave the foundation. Chennai is like a second home to me," said Lillee. "Our efforts have paid off and it pleases to see bowlers trained at the Foundation leading the Indian attack."
Aged 63 now, Lillee had been a part of the facility since its inception in 1987 that has helped groom some of the finest fast bowlers in the modern times. Brett Lee, Zaheer Khan, Irfan Pathan, Mitchell Johnson Chaminda Vaas, Javagal Srinath, only to name a few, have all had a stint at the facility in their formative years.
