Colombo: The International Cricket Council has announced that Brian Lara will be inducted into ICC Cricket Hall of Fame along with Enid Bakewell, the former England woman cricketer. They will be formally inducted during the ICC awards to be held in Colombo on Saturday (September 15).
The ICC Cricket Hall of Fame was set up in 2009, the ICC's Centenary year. Lara will be among 66 legends of the game who have been inducted before, and Bakewell will be only the third woman to be conferred with the honour.
Lara, who appeared in 131 Tests, is the 10th cricketer from the West Indies to feature in the list. Lara scored 11,953 runs and another 10,405 runs from 299 One-Day Internationals.
