Wellington, New Zealand: Former Test bowler Stephen Boock has been elected president of New Zealand Cricket.

Left-arm spinner Boock, who took 74 wickets in 30 Tests and is one of only six New Zealanders to have claimed more than 600 first class dismissals, was a director of NZ Cricket between 2002 and 2011.

He was elevated to the presidency at the organisation's annual meeting on Thursday.
