Mahela Jayawardena on the mat for breach of contract

In a letter published in the 'Daily Mirror', Jayawardene said, "as the captain of the national team I am disturbed and deeply disappointed that a confidential document handed over to SLC has been published in the Daily Mirror on December 19 causing much embarrasment to players and other staff members".

Colombo: Sri Lanka Cricket's executive committee is to discuss breach of contract by both captain Mahela Jayawardena and team manager Charith Senanayake.

A SLC release on Saturday said that both had acted in breach of their contracts in disclosing to the media their views with regard to the World T20 guarantee money.

Jayawardena, through Senanayake, had said that he had lost confidence in the local governing body.
