New Delhi: The women's cricket World Cup may not be shifted out of India, sources told NDTV. Earlier, there were reports that amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the International Cricket Council (ICC) may postpone the World Cup, scheduled to be held in India from January 31.
Sources have told NDTV that the Pakistan women's team will come to India for the World Cup. "We would provide security to Women's World Cup matches in India. We are in the process of speaking to respective state governments," said Rajiv Shukla, Vice President, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
After the killings and mutilation of two Indian jawans near the Line of Control (LoC) on January 8 and repeated ceasefire violations, sources had said on Wednesday that the Pakistan women's team may not be called to India for the World Cup due to security reasons.
