No match is lost till the last ball is bowled, goes the saying. The Jiwaji University boys from the royal precincts of Gwalior firmly believe this. The Toyota University Cricket Championship will offer the upstarts from the historic city a massive platform to showcase their cricket skills and the team feels "it is an opportunity of a lifetime."
Jiwaji were the rank outsiders in the Rohinton Baria Trophy championship this year at Manipal. But cricket throws surprises and when Jiwaji became the second team from West Zone to make the final stages, it shook the heavyweights of University cricket.
Skipper Sohraab Dhaliwal says: "Cricket is all about miracles. So it was foolish to write us off. We are the future of Gwalior." Jiwaji University finished fourth in the all-India championship but not before giving fancied Bangalore a run for their money in the semifinals.
