Mumbai: It is learnt that Vengsarkar’s car was denied an entry into the stadium as his car number was not registered with the police officials.
Vengsarkar was carrying a valid match pass and his vehicle also had a security check sticker on it which is ideally sufficient to get an entry into the stadium.
A source told MiD DAY: “Vengsarkar didn’t like the way he was treated, so he went back.” Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) joint-secretary Nitin Dalal expressed his disappointment over the incident. “Whatever has happened is sad. This shouldn’t have happened. Mr Vengsarkar, who was there for around 10 minutes, tried to explain to the cops that he is an India cricketer and (former) vice-president of the MCA.
