Lahore: The Pakistan media today hailed the Indian cricket team as "best ever", but said some harsh words for the home side for its "shameful defeat" in the Multan Test. "This is without doubt the best Indian team ever," declared noted cricket write Omar Kureishi in the local daily Dawn. "This is a team that has come with a mission. It is not distracted; it remains focussed. We were lulled into believing that we had the edge over them with our bowling," he wrote. Another Pak paper, The Nation, slammed the home team for its "thorough trouncing". "Pakistan's cricketing pride was that while it had won a series in India, India had not won even a Test in Pakistan. Well, now it has, and what a thorough trouncing it was," the daily said in its report. But the newspapers refrained from criticising umpiring and instead said that the hara-kiri by the bowlers and poor fielding of the team in dropping triple centurion Virendra Sehwag cost Pakistan the match.
