For Jagmohan Dalmiya, cleaning cricket is paramount but the former International Cricket Council and Board of Control for Cricket in India chief says he will not ask the current BCCI president - N Srinivasan - to resign.

Speaking to members of the press late on Wednesday, Dalmiya said the sport of cricket should be kept clean. "The game should be clean. There is no place for entertainment. The (BCCI) inquiry commission may be good but I would say, don't get lost, don't forget about cleaning cricket," he said, adding though that temporarily suspending IPL can be an option to clean cricket. "If need be, for cleaning up of cricket, then temporarily IPL may be banned.".

Asked what his stand is on whether Srinivasan should resign, Dalmiya said he is no one to ask him to quit. "Why should I, who am I? Everyday things are changing and we will discuss the matter in our association," said the Cricket Association of Bengal president.
