Whispering and murmuring but no significant opposition to Srinivasan at BCCI meet: Ajay Shirke

Mr. Srinivasan's mentor and former BCCI chief Jagmohan Dalmiya will serve as interim president. Sources said Mr Dalmiya's name for interim president was proposed by BJP leaders Arun Jaitley and Anurag Thakur, both members of the working committee.

Former BCCI treasurer Ajay Shirke on Sunday came down hard on BCCI president N Srinivasan and the way the emergent Working Committee meeting was conducted. Shirke, who resigned as BCCI treasurer on Friday to pressure Mr Srinivasan to resign, has said that Sunday's decision at an emergency meeting of the BCCI's working committee in Chennai is "a step backwards."
