The Indian cricket team reached Bangalore today, to attend a three-day conditioning camp ahead of the seven-match one-day series against Sri Lanka.

The Indian cricket team reached Bangalore today, to attend a three-day conditioning camp ahead of the seven-match one-day series against Sri Lanka. The first day started with an indoor session - but in the afternoon the players - including Sachin Tendulkar - were out on the field. After the disagreements within Indian cricket were splashed all over newspapers and television, the media was being kept at arm's length. "Greg said for this particular camp, there is no briefing for the media - he has not stated any reasons," says C M Ramesh, team co-ordinator. Play spoilsport New captain Rahul Dravid will join the camp from Day 2 after visiting his wife and new born son in Nagpur. But coach Greg Chappell was on the job, trying to revitalize his charges. The weather, however, played spoilsport as rain hampered smooth practice. Well there certainly have been clouds over Indian cricket, with the unsavoury spats and the less than scintillating on-field performance. But there's a new captain now, Sri Lanka and South Africa to face and this three day camp is a step towards getting things right.Topics mentioned in this article
