Australia opener Aaron Finch continued his blistering form to slam his first One Day International century during the one-off tie against Scotland at Edinburgh on Tuesday. Finch was out for 148 off 116 balls as Australia were on an imposing 246 for one in the 39th over. Shaun Marsh was batting on 88.
The right-handed Finch scored his 100 off 96 deliveries and laced with 12 fours and three sixes after Australia were put in to bat.
On Thursday, Finch roared into the record books when he plundered 156 off just 63 balls for the highest ever Twenty20 international score that helped Australia win the first match of the drawn T20 series against England.
In that stunning innings, the 26-year-old struck 14 sixes and 11 fours that easily surpassed the previous world record of 123, held by New Zealand's Brendon McCullum. The right-handed opener's knock contained the most sixes hit by one player in a T20 innings and was Australia's first century in the format.
In that world record innings, Finch had scored 100 off 47 deliveries. It was the second quickest after South African Richard Levi's 45 balls.
