N Srinivasan may be the president in exile but still is firmly in control of Board of Control for Cricket in India's affairs. The president was at the Board's head office in Mumbai on Wednesday, taking stock of day-to-day matters. He met the secretary and the other office-bearers.
NDTV has learnt that he was at the office in Wankhede Stadium to strategise on the upcoming BCCI meetings, including the special general meeting in Chennai on September 25 where a ban is likely to be imposed on former Indian Premier League boss Lalit Modi.
In spite of facing court cases, Srinivasan has already made it clear to his Board colleague that he will chair the BCCI annual general meeting in Chennai on September 29. All the 30 members of the BCCI will congregate at the AGM where Srinivasan will seek an year's extension in the president's office. When questioned about his presence at the BCCI headquarters, a defiant Srinivasan told reporters, "You mean to say I can't come. Are you implying I can't come here?"
