Hyderabad:
Star batsman VVS Laxman today expressed confidence that the Centre was capable of taking adequate security measures during the upcoming Pakistan tour but captain Sourav Ganguly refused to comment on the subject. "I'm sure the government and Cricket Board must have taken enough measures to look after the security of the Indian team", Laxman, who tied the nuptial knot with Sailaja early today, told the media at a photo session ahead of the reception at a posh Banjara Hills hotel here. Ganguly, who was also present at the photo session along with other members of the team, refused to comment, saying "somebody is getting married, not now". Attired in a bright red sherwani along with his wife who donned a gold coloured shalwar kameez, Laxman refused to speak about the views of other players in the team. "I cannot speak of others' mood about the tour but everyone has full confidence in government and Cricket Board though security concerns will be there", he said and hoped that government will be taking full measures to ensure adequate security for the team. On his wife Sailaja, Laxman said: "It's a great feeling to have a lovely wife and she was the source of inspiration during my Australian tour." Sailaja, however, would not be accompanying Laxman during the Pakistan tour as "she has final semester examinations in March". (PTI)Topics mentioned in this article
