Abu Dhabi: Victorious captain Misbah-ul Haq conceded that different conditions in the United Arab Emirates had helped Pakistan beat world's top team South Africa just a month after losing to minnows Zimbabwe.

Pakistan won the first Test against South Africa by seven wickets on a spin-friendly Shekih Zayed Stadium pitch with a day to spare, taking a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. (Scorecard)

Misbah said his team benefitted on home-like conditions suited to his bowlers and batsmen.
