Ian Bell, Jonathan Trott fifties lift England on Day 2 in tour match

England reached 270/2 at stumps on Day 2 after Western Australia declared their first innings at 451/5, with their top-six batsmen making it past fifty.

Perth: Ian Bell (file photo)Ian Bell scored an unbeaten 77 and Jonathan Trott was not out 64 to combine for a 133-run stand and guide England to 270-2 at stumps on the second day of a tour match against a Western Australia side.

Earlier Friday, the WA side declared at 451-5, with its top-six batsmen making it past 50 in England's first match on their Australian Ashes tour.

England's pace attack was unimpressive in the Western Australian first innings. James Anderson, Chris Tremlett, Boyd Rankin and Steven Finn took just three wickets among them, although Anderson was economical with 1-55 off 23 overs.
