Farokh Engineer suffers broken shoulder

Former India wicketkeeper-batsman will not be in Mumbai this week to receive a special award from BCCI after injuring himself.

Mumbai: Farokh Engineer, the former India wicketkeeper, who was to receive a special award from the Board of Control for Cricket in India in Mumbai this Saturday, has expressed his inability to travel from his home in Manchester, England.

Engineer told MiD DAY yesterday that he fell and broke his right shoulder over the weekend. Engineer is recovering at his home in Manchester after a short stint in hospital.

"I am really disappointed that I cannot come to Mumbai to receive my award. I was looking forward to meeting all my friends," said Engineer.
