Lahore:
Taking a serious view of former Pakistan captain Rashid Latifa€™s allegation that the fourth one-dayer between India and Pakistan was fixed, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) today announced that it will take legal action against him. "We feel Latif's assertions (of the match being fixed) were baseless and unpatriotic," said PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan. Khan added the PCB has requested the President House to stop Latif from making such statements. Reacting to PCB's decision, Latif said, "I am ready to face any legal action since I believe there has been wrongdoing". "I have fought against match-fixing and will continue to do so. If my comments are unpatriotic, then is fixing a match patriotic?" asked the 35-year-old wicketkeeper. Asserting that he had a firm basis to make the allegation, Latif said he had already spoken to the anti-corruption squad on Monday, a day after the match. Latif's comments were aired live on a private Pakistani TV channel after India staged a remarkable fightback to win Sundaya€™s match. (PTI)Topics mentioned in this article
