* Brendon McCullum has played 23 one day games against India. The second one day game would be his 25th against India barring unforeseen circumstance and injury. He would then become the tenth New Zealand batsman to appear in 25 plus one-day games against India.

* McCullum has played 224 ODIs prior to the start of the series. The first one day game of the ensuing series would be his 225th. He would become the fourth New Zealand cricketer to appear in 225 plus one day games. Others are - SP Fleming (279), DL Vettori (271) and CZ Harris (250). * Ross Taylor has an aggregate of 3985 runsin ODIs. He needs 15 more runs for his 4000. If he gets them, he would then become the ninth New Zealand batsman to amass 4000 plus runs.
