Earlier in the day, Sri Lanka, helped by a number of drop catches from England set up a mammoth 190-run target for their opposition to chase. Mahela Jayawardene top-scored for them with 89. 23:05 (IST): So, a great win for England as they came back strongly from a dismal performance in the field (several dropped chances) to win by six wickets in the end, led by Alex Hales' mammoth century (116 runs off 64 balls). Sri Lankan captain Dinesh Chandimal said that all credit goes to England for the way their batsman played, especially Hales who was exceptional. England captain Stuart Broad said that Hales' knock was one of the best he had ever witnessed. Man of the Match Alex Hales said that his job was made easier by Morgan's hitting on the other end and that gave him the confidence to produce this amazing knock.
