Talented Kiwi all-rounder Corey Anderson may miss a significant part of the Indian Premier League - starting April 16 - after he injured his hand during the ICC World Twenty20 tournament. According to reports, the 23-year-old - bought by Mumbai Indians - may lose half his auction price which would amount to USD 866,000.
Anderson dislocated a finger during New Zealand's Group 1 match against Sri Lanka. He was rushed to the hospital and while the finger was treated, Anderson also received stitches for a cut. New Zealand's stuff.co.nz has quoted Kiwi coach Mike Hesson as saying that the cricketer would take between four and six weeks to make a full recovery.
