Indian Premier League: Injured Corey Anderson may join Mumbai Indians late

Corey Anderson is expected to be out of action for up to six weeks after he injured his finger during ICC World Twenty20. His 'temporary' absence may force Mumbai Indians to re-think their plans for Indian Premier League 7.

Talented Kiwi all-rounder Corey Anderson may miss a significant part of the Indian Premier League - starting April 16 - after he injured his hand during the ICC World Twenty20 tournament. According to reports, the 23-year-old - bought by Mumbai Indians - may lose half his auction price which would amount to USD 866,000.

Anderson dislocated a finger during New Zealand's Group 1 match against Sri Lanka. He was rushed to the hospital and while the finger was treated, Anderson also received stitches for a cut. New Zealand's has quoted Kiwi coach Mike Hesson as saying that the cricketer would take between four and six weeks to make a full recovery.
