Indian Premier League: Bailey impressed with Punjab's bowling against Kolkata

Punjab's much acclaimed batting failed against Kolkata Knight Riders but the team still managed to win their Indian Premier League match because of a solid show by the bowlers.

Abu Dhabi: Kings XI Punjab skipper George Bailey admitted on Saturday that his batsmen failed to put up enough runs on board but lauded the bowlers for setting up the 23-run win over Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL here.

Punjab were strangled by some quality spin bowling by Sunil Narine and Piyush Chawla as they could manage 131 for nine in their 20 overs. (Scorecard | Report | Standings)

However, Kings XI bowlers produced a disciplined effort to compensate for their dismal batting display and bowled out Kolkata for 109 with 10 balls to spare and Bailey described it as "outstanding".
