Visakhaptnam: The Indian Cricket Board's (BCCI) official scorer Sathuri Kamalakara Rao, (54) died in Visakhapatnam on Sunday due to illness.
He is survived by his wife and a son. He started his cricketing career as a wicket-keeper batsman from Vizag Greens Cricket Club. Later, he joined South Eastern Railway and participated in the Visakhapatnam District Cricket Association (VDCA) and Inter-Divisional Railway Tournament in the 1980s.
Later in 1997, he appeared for All India BCCI Panel Scorers' Examination held at Nagpur and was the first person to become a BCCI panel scorer from VDCA and the Andhra Cricket Association.
