Former England star all-rounder Andrew Flintoff is reportedly close to a return to competitive cricket five years after he quit the game. The 36-year-old Flintoff has recently been training with Lancashire. Flintoff's chances of playing T20 cricket for Lancashire are at "advanced stage."
Flintoff's versatile career was hampered by a series of injuries. After he quit in 2009, Flintoff has had stints in the media and a brief brush with professional boxing.
Flintoff played 79 Tests, 141 limited-overs internationals and seven Twenty20s for England between 1998 and 2009. He was a leading member of the Ashes-winning teams of 2005 and 2009. He captained on the 2006-07 tour to Australia, but could not prevent England suffering a 5-0 thrashing.
