1st Test, Day 3: West Indies Suffer Nightmare in Gayle's 100th Match

Chris Gayle marked his 100th Test appearance with a 125-ball knock of 64 while Shivnarine Chanderpaul scored his 63rd Test fifty but four-wicket hauls for Tim Southee and debutant Mark Craig gave the visitors a 260-run lead at stumps. The Kiwis finished the day on 14/2.

Seamer Tim Southee grabbed 4-19 and debutant offspinner Mark Craig took 4-91 as New Zealand tightened its grip on the opening cricket test by leading West Indies by 260 runs on the third day Tuesday.

The hosts were bowled out for 262 in reply to the Kiwis' mammoth first-innings total of 508-7 declared.
