Younis Khan century 1
Younis Khan (R) raises his bat and helmet in celebration after scoring 150 runs as teammate Sarfraz Ahmed looks on during the second day of the opening Test match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.

Younis Khan built on his overnight century against Sri Lanka and hit 177 on Thursday. His knock on Day 2 of the first Test at Galle was the second-highest by a Pakistani in Sri Lanka - second only to Mohammad Hafeez's 196, scored in 2012. (Day 2 report | Scorecard)

Resuming on his overnight score of 133, Younis continued to show sublime class. Batting with Asad Shafiq (75), the 36-year-old put on 137 for the fifth wicket to help Pakistan score 451 in the first innings - their second highest Test total in Sri Lanka.

Such was the nature of the dominant batting that not only did Younis (1958 runs) finish as the highest Test scorer for Pakistan against Sri Lanka overall, his knock was the sixth highest for a visiting batsman in Galle. West Indies' Chris Gayle (333) and India's Virender Sehwag (201*) hold the record here.
