Kochi: West Indies skipper Dwayne Bravo has confirmed that West Indies will play their ODI series opener against India in Kochi on Wednesday. The update comes moments after a news channel reported that the West Indies cricket team had boarded their bus ahead of the match. (1st ODI updates | Scorecard)

Earlier, there were doubts that a strike could hit the tour opener due to a row between leading West Indies players and their own union. (Also read: West Indies players treated like school kids, says Bravo)

The match in Kochi, where the teams are already assembled, is the first of five one-day internationals to be followed by three test matches and a Twenty20 international.
